Adbrite Is Closing Down Its Business On February 1, 2013

Yes, Adbrite, one of the popular PPC advertising networks which is used by many publishers as a Google Adsense alternative is shutting down the company after 3 days. Here’s the email what they have sent to their subscribers few hours ago:

Dear adBrite Publisher,

Over the last few weeks, adBrite and its management have been evaluating the go-forward plan for the business. Given market conditions and certain financial liabilities, in working with our lenders, we have decided to cease operations on Feb 1, 2013.

This is a difficult decision for all of us at adBrite. However, after much deliberation this seems to be the best course of action despite the impact it will have on all the employees, clients and partners who helped build this business. There will be a team in place as needed to assist with winding down.

Thank you for being part of the adBrite community.
The adBrite Team

I was using their ads on few of my sites and its shocking to see that they send an email like that just before 3 days and a publisher has no option to take out the last payment. Adbrite pays by check and I don’t think there’s any option to retrieve the funds which I have earned in the account.

So, after few days yet another PPC ad network is shutting down. I guess we are running out of PPC ad networks for small or medium publishers. As for my tech blogs I have no problems as literally all my tech blogs don’t use PPC advertising at all. Affiliate marketing rocks over there. However, for sites which are in other niche I have to use some other ad network.

The solution?

Trees fall and trees grow, that’s the circle of life. We see that Adbrite is going down but there are a couple of Ad Networks which are growing and they are none other than Infolinks and Chitika. If you are a small or a medium publisher, you can try these networks for your blogs.
