Some Common Blogging Buzzwords, Terms Used By Pro Bloggers

In this post I will discuss about some common blogging terms which are buzzwords and jargon for pro bloggers:

1) Blogcast: Blogcast is a type of blog which contains text as well as video or audio content. It is a combination of words blog and podcast.

2) Splog or Spam blog: Splog is a blog where the publisher of the blog does any one of the following:

a) copies content from other websites.

b) posts too many outgoing links.

c) tries to manipulate search engines by black hat techniques.

d) creates blog for sole purpose of making money.

e) doesn’t provides any useful content.

f) too many ads in the blog.

3) Celeblog: Celeblog is celebrity blog. It is a combination of words celebrity and blog.

4) Collaborative blog: A blog having multiple authors.

5) Edublog: A blog which is related to education. It is a combination of words education and blog.

6) Litblog: A blog which is related to literature. It is a combination of words literature and blog.

7) Moblog: A blog which is published by using a mobile or a smart phone. It is a combination of words mobile and blog.

8) Permalink: It is the URL of a blog post or page which will never change.

9) Ping: It is a process of notifying a blog search engine that a particular blog has been updated with a new post.

10) Autocasting: It refers to the process of creating podcasts (audio content) by using text.

11) Audioblogging or podcasting: Audioblogging or podcasting is a form of blogging where instead of text content, audio content is produced for the readers (listeners) and subscribers.

12) Blaudience: Blaudience is nothing but the audience or the readers and subscribers of a blog.

13) Blath: A blog which is related to mathematics. It is a combination of words blog and math.

14) Blawg: A blog which is related to law. It is a combination of words blog and law.

15) Bliki: A bliki is a blog where revisions are allowed just like a wiki. It is a combination of words blog and wiki. It is also known as wikilog, wikiweblog, and wikiblog.

16) Blog Farm: A Blog Farm is a directory of blogs.

17) Blogroll: Blogroll is a list of favorite blogs of the blog owner.

18) Pingback or TrackBack: It is a process by which the blog author is notified about who links to his blog post.

19) Plog: A blog which is related to politics. It is a combination of words politics and blog.

20) RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed: It is a type of blog feed which contains latest posts.

21) RSS aggregator: It is a tool for reading RSS feeds.

22) Vlog: Vlog is a video blog. It is a combination of words video and blog.

23) Artlog: Artlog is a blog about art work. It is a combination of words art and blog.

24) Tumblelog: Tumblelog is a short blog post which has few sentences, more like status updates.

25) Sketchblog: Sketchblog is a blog related to sketches. It is a combination of words sketch and blog.
